Recognising Jesus and connecting with Him
/I get a lot out of reading about specific incidents that happened during the three years of Jesus' ministry, especially those where people benefited from His healing power.
In the 14th chapter of Matthew's gospel, there is a brief but important account of what took place on the occasion that Jesus arrived at Gennesaret.
Matthew tells us, in verses 35 and 36, that "when the men of that place recognised Him, they sent out into all that surrounding region and brought to Him all who were sick and begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment and as many that touched it were made perfectly well."
There is a two part strategy here, that is available for us to take advantage of right now.
The first of the two powerful points, is for us to recognise exactly who Jesus is. By this, I mean that He is and always has been, the Son of God, who is right now, at the right hand of God, available for us to call upon, to release healing power into our lives.
The second point is, that as the people at Gennesaret did, after we come to a personal realization of who Jesus is, we need to connect or make contact with Him, as they did by the simple act of reaching out their hands and touching the hem of his garment.
How do we do this in 2012?
In my first book, "Ultimate Journey", you will find a number of real life stories, including some of our pathology patients, who have experienced recovery from a range of medical issues by discovering one of several Biblical strategies which are available to us if we are sick.
These strategies involved people understanding, often for the first time in their lives, who Jesus really was and then, learning how to reach out to Him for help, bringing Him into their individual worlds and in so doing, discovering that His power is as real today as it was 2000 years ago.
If you, or someone close to you, is sick, you might find it very much worthwhile to read through some of these individual stories.
