Are You Afraid of Dying?

An increasing number of our patients at work are telling me about being concerned how quickly time is passing by. A major concern is that this is bringing the end of their lives closer and this is producing anxiety and fear of death in their minds. This has persuaded me to expand my December blog, which I entitled, "What Exactly is Your Life?"

There is a question that the Bible asks us, which is this; "For what is your life? It is a vapour that appears for a little time and then vanishes away." (James 4;14)

That tells us that our lives only occupy a short period of time.

Jesus made a statement to a ruler of the Jews, on one occasion and one of the important things he told this man was, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3;16)

I have come to understand that the most incredible thing about knowing that you have received everlasting life by becoming a believer in Christ, is that this is the only possible way any of us can avoid starting to experience levels of anxiety and fear, as we become older and our lives on earth get closer to ending.

I believe without any doubt, that to take advantage of what Jesus was sent to our planet to achieve, is the greatest thing that any of us can experience.

I had never opened a Bible before I was 27 years of age. Since then, I have found that you never stop learning how to improve the quality of your own life and discovering how to be the greatest help to other people, as you learn what the scriptures teach us.

My books and blog are aimed at encouraging people to be able to recognize the importance of receiving Christ's gift of eternal life for themselves.

In my future blogs, I plan to give real examples of how to put various scriptural teaching into action in our lives. This can have powerful impact on so many of life's issues that can otherwise have negative effects on all of us in many different ways.
